About our speaker Ms Neha Joshi

Neha is a development professional, with a Social Work Degree from George Warren Brown School of Social work (2012), Washington University in St. Louis. She has worked in development programs and projects across India, her core expertise being program planning, design, capacity building and evaluation for non-profits. With a keen interest in development and politics, she designed a program for capacity building of Women Panchayat representatives (local self-government representatives) through leveraging community institutions. Neha also has experience of working in post-disaster scenarios having co-led a “Resilient Housing Reconstruction” program and rehabilitation initiatives post-2013 floods in the Himalayan State of Uttarakhand. Neha worked as an advisor in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Government of India. Her focus was on the hugely successful ‘Ujjwala’ program through which 60 million poor women have been given free gas connections. She has co-designed the ‘Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat’ initiative, a nationwide effort that aims to increase and sustain clean energy adoption amongst new users. A passionate speaker, Neha is a Political Activist and currently serving as a National Vice President of BJYM. She is also a fellow of the prestigious ‘Konrad Adenauer Stiftung School for Young Politicians’ 2019-20.
