Kerch is experiencing a flood for the second time since the beginning of summer. Due to a heavy downpour on the night of August 13, a river overflowed its banks in Kerch - it flooded the territory of the city stadium, the market, the Proliv fish canning plant, as well as about a hundred houses. Some of the streets in the center, which were under a layer of water, had to be blocked. Due to precipitation, trolleybuses did not enter the line, and some of the routes of other public transport in the city had to be changed. The administration of Kerch appealed to residents of the city with a request to refrain from traveling by car.
The section of the Tavrida highway linking Kerch with Simferopol and Sevastopol was flooded. During the day, two monthly norms of precipitation have already fallen in Kerch, meteorologists predict new heavy rains and thunderstorms. The Kerch authorities asked residents to be ready for evacuation, but, as the acting head of the city administration Svyatoslav Brusako said on the morning of August 13, there is no such need yet. The Krasnodar Territory also suffered from the rains, where an emergency regime was introduced, and all beaches in Sochi are closed for swimming.
