Heavy snowfall continues in the northeastern provinces of China. The largest snowfalls occurred in Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces, with about 41 cm of fresh snow falling in the region. The snowfalls were caused by the third cold wave that swept China this year. Schools and kindergartens were temporarily closed in the province. 22 highways in Heilongjiang had to be closed, flights were canceled, trains were delayed. Special services are actively removing snow from roads, on which there have been a lot of traffic accidents, and huge congestions have formed. There were power outages and a sharp rise in energy prices. Farmers also calculate losses from heavy snowfalls.
