Rachel Prendergast & Nicola Canzano – Seventeenth Century Italian Masters

Explore the virtuosity and fantasy of these early Italian works for violin and continuo. From diminutions on Palestrina madrigals to sonatas with vivid contrasts, these works from such composers as Rognoni, Marini, and Uccellini paint a varied and colorful portrait of affect. We may throw in our favorite Schmeltzer sonata because we love it so much!
