The ice cream truck is a classic way to beat the summer heat. But with inflation hitting record highs, some ice cream truck owners are struggling to stay afloat. Diesel gas is $7 a gallon in some states, vanilla ice cream is $13 a gallon and the cost of sprinkles doubled to $60 a box. One New York Italian Ices owner says he stopped his ice cream trucks because of rising costs. The North American Ice Cream Association says "The ice cream truck, unfortunately, is becoming a thing of the past.”
