The Marvel Cinematic Universe has mastered the origin story at this point. Some would say they do it too well, leading to a bunch of similar films with the same general structure, but although the beats may feel familiar, I still think the characters are interesting enough to make it work. And it’s always fascinating to see just how exactly this massive superhero franchise will choose to adapt certain heroes and villains. Are there instances where the MCU origins are better than the comics? Are there examples of it being worse? Absolutely! And that’s what I’m going to talk about today.
For example, Thanos the Mad Titan had his origin drastically changed where instead of chasing the love of someone he should definitely not have feelings for, he goes on a quest to wipe out half the galaxy in order to save it from overpopulation. Spider-Man started off having a bad origin story, seemingly stripping away the true nature of his character, but No Way Home revealed that this was all one big origin story that is the most accurate the character can be. But then you have someone like Hawkeye who’s comic origins tie to crime and the circus and that sounds way better than what we know about him from the MCU. I’m just saying, there’s plenty of good and bad examples of MCU Origins that were better and worse from the comics.
So join me today as I talk about them all! After you’re done, be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button for more awesome Avengers content like this! Oh and be sure to leave a comment or else we’ll never see Nick Fury’s true origin. We don’t want that right? Better not risk it! Thanks for watching CBR! Let’s get started!
