Milk pound cake: soft and delicious, suitable for breakfast or snack!

An easy recipe to make a great pound cake in no-time! 

 

INGREDIENTS

75g (1/3 cup) butter

100g (1/2 cup) sugar

2 eggs

140g (1 cup) flour

Salt

80ml (1/3 cup) whipping cream

5ml (1 tsp) vanilla extract

5ml (1 tsp) rum (optional)

METHOD



In a bowl mix sifted flour and a pinch of salt.

In another bowl, beat softened butter with sugar. Add eggs and continue to beat until well combined.

Gradually add sifted flour and whipping cream alternately to sugar mixture, beginning and ending with flour, and stir with a spatula until smooth. Add in vanilla extract and rum (if using) and stir to combine.

Pour the obtained mixture into a plum cake mold lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 180°C/360°F for 30-40 minutes.

After 10 minutes of baking, open the oven and score the top of the cake with a sharp knife. Return the cake back to the oven and continue to bake until golden.

Slice and enjoy!
